We are pleased to announce that Antigua and Barbuda will be the host to the 25th Annual OECS Swimming Championships. This is the second hosting of the event in 20 years - the first being in 2012. This auspicious swimming event will be held from 5th-8th November 2015. It promises to be a very competitive, thrilling and high profile regional meet and will bring together the most talented swimmers from the OECS.

A full contingent of 34 swimmers will be selected to represent Antigua & Barbuda after our National Trials which are scheduled for 16th and 17th October. We now have the ambitious task of raising funds of EC$70,000 to ensure the success of this national historic event.

A new feature has been added to this year's program. On Sunday 8th November, we will host the inaugural OECS Open Water Swimming Championship which will be simultaneously held with the Antigua & Barbuda Swimming Federation’s 29th Annual Open Water Championship.

The importance of these events cannot be overstated. A few years ago, in 2007, nine swimmers represented Antigua in Grenada. At that time, returning to Antigua with two medals was considered a great accomplishment. Since then, we have witnessed an incredible and exponential growth in talent and performance among our swimmers. In 2011, four years later, 29 swimmers represented Antigua in St. Lucia. On this occasion, we returned home with a grand total of 113 medals, and 4 OECS records broken. The trend continued in 2012 to 2014 wherein swimming time improved significantly, more medals were won and additional records were broken.
